What is Dulce de Leche?

Dulce de leche is a popular caramel spread that originated in South America and has travelled the world. It literally means ‘sweet milk’ and it is made by gently simmering milk and sugar until the sugar caramelises. In its original recipe, cow’s milk is used.
My Dulce de Leche is the vegan alternative to it, made with coconut milk instead and the first of its kind to be produced in the UK. Sweet!
